Halloween Horror, Right around the Corner...

Halloween is this weekend, and we started raking our leaves, and finding our pumpkins. Headed down to the patch and checked out the field full of big ORANGE pumpkins. Owen got to ride in the wagon, and head out into the muddy field to pick some good ones for carving. It was a blast!!! We tried on his outfit after we got home, and had to head to the store for a few accessories and our little cowboy will be ready to ride come Halloween. Only problem is now that he keeps asking to be a cowboy! YEEHAW!

Terrific or Terrible Two's!?!?

It's been over a year since we brought Owen home, and he is now 2 and becoming his own little member of the family. He knows he has 2 grandma's and gets so excited when he goes to visit them. The minute he gets there he is all talk about his day and who knows what. He is learning words and sentences so fast. He can actually count to 10 all by himself. He tries to do the sign language numbers he learned at 1st Step Story Time at the library, but doesn't get them all. At Mom & Dad Gordon's 40th anniversary he got to watch the lady at church play the piano, so he is all about playing the piano on his toy table, and Grandma Downing's child size baby grand. It's very hard to keep up with his imagination and learning, but we do our best. And it is so true that they only have an attention span of their age plus 2 mins. But then we have our days where he tests us and pushes the limit, and yes if he doesn't get his way or does not have one of our full attention, it is TEMPER TANTRUM TIME! Slowly but surely getting passed that with a little few tricky techniques of our own that throw him off and keep him guessing also! So much Fun! But it is nothing but love, he no longer shys away from hugs and kisses, and loves to snuggle and read books on the rocker, or with his big black bear.

Summer Fun

It's been a long time and we have been a busy family. Owen is now 2 and growing up so fast! Learning his alphabet, numbers, sentences, and even some Russian letter sounds. He's amazing! Keeping us on our toes that's for sure. Dean is still laid off from the foundary, since late January. But we are hanging in there. He's a great stay at home dad for now!

Here comes Peter Cotton Tail...

We colored eggs today. Wasn't that exciting for Owen, but it's fun to do it anyway. We have all the goodies hidden and found a few baskets this weekend that we haven't yet decided which one to tag as Owen's. Mama & Papa are still debating on hiding his basket or not yet. Reminiscing on the days when we had to hunt for ours. Now it's our turn to have some fun!

My little Easter Bunny!

We will also be celebrating the anniversary of Owen's referral this week April 7th. Amazing that 1 year ago those little picture's of a chubby little boy came overnight after the phone call telling us that there was a little boy out there waiting for us.
