First Adoption Post

A little update on where we are in our Adoption. We completed the Dossier on October 22nd, and sent it off to the Agency on the 26th. Had a few forms to redo so we had them redone and sent immediately. The dossier was sent to the Russian government for review, acceptance and referral on November 14th. We requested a boy, 9-18 months old. They are estimating the waiting time to be approximately 2 to 12 months before we receive our referral. These are the tough times, but we are looking at nursery ideas and researching International doctors to review the child's information and medical records to help us make the big decision. Time to enjoy the Holidays as a couple for the last time and think about next year and what family traditions we would like to carry on to our little one.

Getting Started

We started with Lutheran Social Services as our first Adoption Agency in February. Got through the classes required to become adoptive Parents and started our dossier. Dean was not satisfied and did not feel comfortable about some of the requirements needed concerning religion. One day on our way to Green Bay we heard a radio announcement for an Adoption Seminar in Green Bay, we looked at each other and figured it may be fate... It was a great seminar and the people were very positive and satisfied with the results. It was nice to hear a lot of good things about adoption and meet other people who have gone through it.
